How I handle your Start Here answers

Who I am
Dr. Jenn Overstreet, Bright Spiral Literacy, based in Italy. Questions or requests: hello@brightspiralliteracy.com.
What I collect
Your first name, email, where you live, your kids' age range, home languages, and the answers you type into the form. I don't ask for your kids' names, birthdays, school reports or diagnoses. If you choose to tell me about a diagnosis or learning need in an optional answer, I keep it with the rest of your answers and use it only to understand your kid. You can ask me to delete it any time.
Why
- To shape what I teach in the Parent Reading Room around the families in it.
- To see who might want 1:1 support, so I can offer it.
- To email you, only if you ticked the email box. You can unsubscribe from any email.
- To make sure what I teach and post matches what families actually want.
Where it's kept
Your answers are stored in MailerLite, my email provider, which keeps data in the EU. The form runs on Cloudflare. I don't sell your data or share it with anyone else.
How long
While you're a member of the Parent Reading Room, and up to 12 months after you leave, unless you ask me to delete it sooner.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete your answers at any time by emailing me. If you're unhappy with how I handle your data, you can contact the Italian data protection authority, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali.
